The TDSB sent out a letter tonight. For those of you who may not have seen it, you can see a copy below.
Parents/Guardians of TDSB Students,
We are always looking to improve communication with parents across the city. Please join us on Tuesday, May 3 from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m. as we host our first live webcast for parents/guardians.
We will begin the session with a welcome and update on recent developments at the TDSB. This will be followed by a chance for parents/guardians to ask questions. After the webcast, please participate in a short survey about the webcast format and share your thoughts about topics for future sessions.
Please join the conversation at the following link:

We look forward to speaking with you on Tuesday, May 3, 2016.
Parents: The TDSB has created a new PA day in April: Friday the 15th is now a PA day. For Bowmore, this means that the pizza lunch scheduled for April the 15th has now been moved to the following week (Friday April 22). Below is a copy of the letter from the TDSB or you can download the PDF version here: PDF version of TDSB letter.

We are writing to provide you with important information about an additional Professional Activity Day (P.A. Day) that has been added to the calendars of all schools in the Toronto District School Board (TDSB).
All TDSB schools will have a newly designated P.A. Day on Friday, April 15, 2016. This additional P.A. Day has been mandated by the Ministry of Education as a result of provincial labour negotiations.
All TDSB schools will be closed to students on Friday, April 15, 2016. On this day, teachers will be taking part in professional development on provincial education priorities identified by the Minister of Education.
Most Before-and-After School Programs will offer full-day care for children currently registered in their program on the P.A. Day. Parents/Guardians are encouraged to speak to their local child care provider for further details.
The remainder of the 2015-2016 school year calendar remains unaffected. As always, details on the school year calendar can be found on the TDSB website at: http://www.tdsb.on.ca/AboutUs/Calendar

Mme Taillefer would like to remind the Mental Health Committee participants that there is a meeting today at 3:30 in the conference room.
The Toronto District School Board is consulting staff, parents, and community members because it must update its policies to adhere to the new guidelines from the Ministry of Education. Two policies may be of interest to parents.
- The Pupil Accommodation Review policy deals with the review of groups of schools with low enrolment that can potentially lead to school closures.
- The Community Planning and Partnerships policy concerns potential partnerships with external organizations in operating schools that have unused space.
Both policies affect the use of schools and therefore affect students.
Feedback can be provided in different ways:
- Sending written feedback to firstname.lastname@example.org by January 29, 2016
- Attending one of three public meetings listed below.
