Central Toronto Youth Services (CTYS) will be offering a new workshop series for parents and caregivers of young people struggling with mental health, addictions, and/or behavioural challenges. It’s called “What’s your family’s ‘normal’?: A Mental Health Education Workshop Series for Parents and Caregivers”.
The workshops will be taking place on Wednesday, June 14th and Wednesday, June 21st from 7-9pm at CTYS (65 Wellesley St East, Suite 300, at Church). They are open to any parents/caregivers supporting youth.
Below are the workshop objectives to give you a better sense of what they’re all about:
- Understand what factors influence mental wellness and mental unwellness
- Understand how to help your youth navigate the mental health system
- Learn skills for building healthy relationships with your youth
- Learn skills for communicating across challenging emotional experiences
All TDSB Parents/Caregivers are invited to attend a public consultation being held on Thursday, 2nd February from 6:30pm to 8:30 pm at Rosedale Heights School of the Arts. Presented by the TDSB Mental Health & Well-Being Parent Partnership Committee, this event is an opportunity for all TDSB families to provide their input and feedback to the Ministry of Education on how to enhance and support the well-being of Ontario students.
The evening will include a special presentation on Mindful Parenting & Resilient Children/Youth. Childcare and light refreshments are provided.
