Snack Program – Thank you to everyone who responded to our call for volunteers! At this time, Snack Program would appreciate donations of paper towels and dish soap. Please leave at the office with “Snack Program” clearly marked.

Thursday May 31 – Monsieur Overby is looking for volunteers to help with the Family Fitness Event (registration, set up, take down, or station leader for either rotation). Please let him know, in person or by email, if you would be interested in committing to do so. Much appreciated! darren.overby@tdsb.on.ca

Friday, June 22 Bowmore Carnival
Sponsorships! Time is running out to be a sponsor of our Bowmore Carnival. Our Carnival banner will be displayed at the front of the school and will list our sponsors. A tax receipt is available for donations over $25. If you would like to be included, please email bowmorecarnival@gmail.com.

Volunteers needed! For carnival to run smoothly we need almost 100 parent volunteers to donate one hour of their time during the event! Volunteer positions include; setting up 2-3pm, ticket sales, supervision of various activities 3-7pm and tear down 7-8pm. Please email bowmoresc.vol@gmail.com for more information and include the following details:

1. your first/last name
2. phone #
3. any preference on the hour we schedule you for? (i.e. can only work after 5pm; gone by 6pm; etc.)

A friendly reminder from the Health & Phys. Ed. offices!

We ask that you assist your children in coming to school prepared for outdoor activity.  On days with scheduled Phys Ed., students are encouraged to wear/bring:

1. appropriate clothing (avoid dangling jewelry and flowing clothing)
2. appropriate footwear for being active (not sandals or boots)
3. a sun hat or baseball cap
4. sunscreen
5. a refillable water bottle

Parent and Teacher Survey Results
Thank you to all of you who took the time to participate in the recent Parent Survey. The results are in and will be used to build a budget proposal for next year. The results of the survey and the budget proposal will be presented at the next School Council Meeting on Wednesday June 6th.

Lost and Found

Hot Lunch Program Trial

Due to the low number of subscribers and views of the blog posts on this web site, we are moving to posting day-to-day descriptions and events only on Facebook. This site will continue to post copies of forms, minutes of meetings, and other content that is more static. We encourage anyone who is not currently on Facebook to consider joining because a lot of information is shared on the Bowmore School Council page. Council Facebook Page.

Facebook not your thing or you prefer emails? There’s a new option this year: per-classroom communication. Each class has one parent volunteer who forwards information from Council and the teacher. Those who sign up will receive this email once a week. If you are interested, please email bowmoresc@gmail.com and attach a copy of the consent form. If you do not sign up then you will not get the emails.

Some people choose to both follow Facebook and receive the classroom emails. It’s up to you.
