Construction at Bowmore This Week
Construction on the walkway between the Bowmore senior and junior buildings will take place this Tuesday until Thursday.
Starting Tuesday students and caregivers will need to enter the schoolyard via the playground or by the tennis courts until Friday.
ParticipACTION Campaign Throughout October
As part of our Eco-Schools and Physical Activity commitment Bowmore P.S. will be joining with ParticipACTION Canada to focus on ‘Park the Car Campaign’ to educate families in the school community during the month of October about the value of daily physical activity.
Information about this national campaign will be shared at the Oct. 9 International Walk to School (iwalk) event. More details about this educational campaign can be found on ParticipACTION Canada’s website: www.participACTION.com
Reminder: No Smoking or Dogs on School Property

It is TDSB policy that dogs and smoking are not permitted anywhere on school property at any time. These signs will be placed throughout the school property in the near future. Please help us to look after the comfort and safety of our students by respecting these rules.
Bowmore Athletics Practice & Game Schedules Now Online!
We’re excited to announce that as part of School Council’s efforts to improve communications with our parent community, we are now able to post Bowmore practice & game schedules for the fall season online.
Huge thanks to Mr. Norris for his coordination and leadership in making this possible!
Two Vital Roles on Council Still Available
We have a great group of volunteers this year on School Council – thanks to all who submitted their applications. A notice announcing the names of our new executive members will be issued soon.
There are still two important roles to be filled. Note that these roles could easily be split between two or more people to make them easier to manage.
Kick Off Meeting Last Week – Thanks for Coming Out!
School Council held our first meeting of the school year on September 26. We had a terrific turnout of interested parents who voted on some funding initiatives, got reports on School Council activities for the year and we heard from Principal Sambrook and Vice-Principal Kondilis-Minos about what lies ahead for Bowmore this year.
Mark your calendar! The next Council meeting will be held October 24 at 6 – 8 pm.This is a particularly essential meeting as we will be voting on the full fundraising plan for the year as well as the overall School Council budget to be submitted to the TDSB.
Every parent in attendance gets a voice at these meetings, and an equal vote. Please mark your calendar and plan to attend.
The commitment of our parent community is truly outstanding and helps to make Bowmore a magical place for learning!
