MAY/JUNE ELECTIONS FOR THE 2013/14 BOWMORE SCHOOL COUNCIL
At Bowmore, an election for school council members is done in two parts. A May election selects the Chair, Treasurer, and QSP Committee Chair for the following school year and a September election completes the Council by selecting the remaining Committee Chairs and additional Executive Members. This allows Bowmore School Council to begin its school year with key Executive Members already in place.
2013/14 MAY ELECTION PROCESS: All Parent Members are invited to nominate themselves for the following Executive Positions for 2013/14: Co-Chair, Treasurer, and QSP Committee Chair.
Monday May 27 – Election guidelines and dates sent home with students and self-nomination forms available at the office
Friday June 7 – Nominations close at 4:00 PM
Monday June 10 – Ad Hoc Election Committee posts the list of candidates outside the main office and determines if enough nominations were received to warrant an election
Wednesday June 12 – Candidates’ Introduction Public Meeting (if an election is called)
Thursday June 13 – Election by secret ballot, if needed
Monday June 17 – Election results are posted outside the main office and announcement is made in the June newsletter
