Lots of activities all week – Students & staff asked to wear pink on Friday
Once again Bowmore students and staff recognize the importance of promoting and maintaining a safe learning community with the observance of Bullying Awareness Week, November 19 – 23.
Students and teachers will understand some of the issues related to bullying through video exploration and in-class discussions. Students will have the chance to create ‘bricks’ that will come together to create a wall of support for our students who face incidents of bullying.
Teachers will ‘catch’ kids caring all week by recognizing acts of empathy with specially made ‘Caught You Caring’ Cards. Students who receive these cards will have a chance to win prizes and have their kind deeds recognized in the front hallway of the junior school.
On Friday, November 23 students and staff will be asked to wear pink in acknowledgement of their continued commitment to support those impacted by bullying behaviours.
Parents are encouraged to continue discussions at home with their children. Please visit the Bowmore TDSB website for additional bullying resources and tip sheets.
Together we can make a difference in creating a safe community for our children.
