Bowmore Road Jr. and Sr. School will join millions of children on Wednesday, October 10, across Canada and around the world, participating in International Walk to School Day, or iWalk. iWalk is an event designed to address the issues of physical activity, safer communities and environmental health.
By walking regularly to and from school, children can spend quality time with their parents or older siblings while also learning to be healthy and fit.
We hope that you will join us to celebrate the simple yet healthy, community-building, environmentally sound practice of walking to school on Wednesday, October 10 and join us in the schoolyard from 8:00 – 8:30 a.m.
We will have ECO volunteers stationed at the neighbouring cross walks and when you reach the school grounds have a coffee, hot chocolate or juice on us. You can also take a walk in the school’s labyrinth and draw your route to school on a our ECO map and find out more about how to get involved.
